How Kennedy spent his time during his 'professional development'

The Board of Regents for Higher Education on Wednesday released the daily schedule of Robert A. Kennedy, who spent nearly nine weeks away from the central office this summer. Last week he told reporters he spent six weeks over the summer working remotely -- though his contract specified that time be used for professional development -- and two weeks using his vacation time.

His schedule has few appointments scheduled during his time he spent working remotely.

This extended time away from the office amidst a major reorganization of the 17-college system and the double-digit raises he illegally approved without board approval led to his resignation last week.

Based upon the work obligations evidenced (or not evidenced) by BOR President Kennedy’s calendar while he was away for the summer of 2012, it sure looks like he owes a whole ton of money to the state of Connecticut for the work and professional development activities that he did not do. Based upon an annual salary of $340,000, he probably owes the state about $39,000 ($1,300 per day X 30 days). Whose obligation is it to collect that money? BOR? Comptroller? Governor? State Police?
Auditors of Public Accounts? Legislature?

Bravo Jacqueline! His daily schedule is laugh-out-loud funny. I was especially pleased to see he found time for regular dentist visits (I am sure his mother would be proud). I was, however, shocked to see he scheduled an oil change while Mike was on vacation. It is a miracle the BOR office didn't implode without either of them there. I wonder if Chang used the time to dole out extra floggings for the former CC I.T. staff or if she was under orders to wait for Meotti to get back so he could join in the fun!

What a funny non-read his calendar was! He did nothing.... What was this governor thinking? Malloy needs to clean some house up there to even remotely be considered as having done anything at the higher Ed level for the state. The realignment was already being discussed as was the transfer agreement before he became governor, so what did he really do? Gave away state money to someone who did nothing! Bravo Mr. Governor! Re-election can't come soon enough for us, please run!

Kennedy must have been embarrassed seeing that any future employer who asks what he did on his last job will see a public record which demonstrated nadda! It would be great to get Meotti's and Nunez's and the others who took the outrageous raises to see if their work justifies the 48k increase..... But this is higher ed so my guess would be on most days it says..... 'thinking'..... Haha.... When it came to raise time.... It probably says..... 'thinking of boat, new car, summer house' lol! How many of CTs state workers can think of those things when wages are frozen and times are mildly hard?
